The vice-presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has conveyed his assurance that the ruling party is capable of obtaining 85% of the presidential votes in the Ashanti Region.
He noted that the party has a history of exceeding expectations and has often outperformed the forecasts of political analysts by garnering more votes than anticipated.
During the inauguration of the NPP campaign team in the Ashanti Region, NAPO expressed his optimism regarding the party’s potential to achieve an 85% vote share in the region.
Several pundits said the NPP would not win the election in 2016, especially because of the tag against the presidential candidate [Nana Akufo-Addo] that he was arrogant or what have you.
I remember when the NPP was able to also garner the most resounding victory ever since this dispensation of our democracy- 1992.
He indicated that the party has undertaken significant efforts in the region to secure additional votes. He referenced various road initiatives, educational projects, and other infrastructural developments within the area.
He asserted that with Dr. Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate, the NPP is poised to attain 85% of the votes in the Ashanti Region. He called upon supporters in the Ashanti Region to demonstrate their respect for President Akufo-Addo’s leadership by backing the NPP during the elections.
The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South emphasized that the NPP will initiate an extensive door-to-door campaign across the nation in anticipation of the forthcoming general elections.
He remarked that circumstances evolve, and the party’s current situation should not be juxtaposed with previous times. He expressed that the 2024 election presents unique challenges, as the party boasts a roster of youthful and dynamic candidates who have demonstrated their capabilities when given the opportunity to serve.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh is confident that through a combination of electoral strategies and the accomplishments of the Akufo-Addo administration, the Ashanti Region will reward the party with 85% of the votes.
He recognized that there may be some individuals in the Ashanti Region who harbor discontent regarding certain issues; however, he is optimistic that, when considering the government’s overall achievements, they will ultimately support the NPP.
