Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the NPP, commonly referred to as NAPO, has expressed that Dr. Bawumia’s administration is prepared to collaborate with anti-corruption advocates and organizations, regardless of differing viewpoints, to combat the pervasive issue of corruption.
Dr. Prempeh articulated these sentiments during an event on Tuesday, 13th August 2024, where journalist and anti-corruption advocate Manasseh Azure Awuni, a vocal critic of the Akufo-Addo administration, presented copies of his new book titled “The President Ghana Not” to the Bawumia 2024 Campaign.
He emphasized that Manasseh’s efforts align closely with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s commitment to addressing corruption through the use of technology and appropriate institutional and legal measures.
While accepting the book on behalf of the Flagbearer, Dr. Prempeh clarified that this action should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the book or its contents, but rather as a gesture of support for the author’s ongoing anti-corruption initiatives.
My acceptance of the books on behalf of His Excellency Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and myself is to encourage you to continue in your journalistic exploits and as an anti-corruption crusader. It is in no way to be taken as an endorsement of the contents of the book which we are both yet to read. I must say this cly because of the snippets I have come across from the book launch.
Dr. Prempeh expressed his unwavering confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to combating corruption, asserting that he will adopt a stringent approach in addressing this pervasive issue.
He forecasted that by the conclusion of December 2028, Manasseh will be chronicling the exemplary achievements of Dr. Bawumia in this critical battle against corruption.
The Flagbearer, that I know, Alhaji Dr Bawumia is going to fight corruption without fear or favour; watch this space. And who knows, come December 2028 after his first term, we might be seeing snippets of a different sort, of your next book on the 6th President of the 4th Republic of this country.
Dr. Prempeh remarked humorously on Manasseh’s recent public endorsement of Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman in preference to himself.
I know you prefer “…Naana Jane to Napo”. That’s okay, I can bet you though that come end of November this year, you would have had a change of heart and mind and might even have become a disciple.
