“NO GHANAIAN BLOOD SHOULD BE SACRIFICED FOR POWER” – DR. BAWUMIA

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), reaffirmed his commitment to free, fair, and peaceful elections in the upcoming December polls.

Addressing the media during the “Bawumia Hosts the Media” event held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the true purpose of political power, stating,

The quest for political power should not be an end in itself. It should be mounted on the desire to transform lives and make Ghana, our motherland, a better place for us all.

He expressed concerns about the recent rise in incendiary language and threats, warning against the use of violence and chaos as political tools. Dr. Bawumia also called for a commitment to peace from all political stakeholders.

It is becoming increasingly worrying that some people have gained notoriety for churning out incendiary language, threatening fire and brimstone

If the good people of Ghana give the mandate to rule to a group other than theirs, whilst nobody profits from violence and chaos, it bears repeating that not a single drop of Ghanaian blood should be sacrificed for power.

His remarks underline the NPP’s dedication to maintaining peace and stability during the electoral process, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of every Ghanaian should be paramount above any political ambition.
