Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized the importance of the free senior high school (SHS) policy, which he believes has greatly benefited many Ghanaians.
As part of his ‘It Is Possible’ campaign, Dr. Bawumia toured the Bono East Region on Tuesday, engaging with chiefs, stakeholders, and citizens to rally support for the upcoming 2024 general elections. During his interactions, he highlighted the success of the NPP government’s free SHS policy, asserting that the initiative has positively impacted countless lives.
“We promised to implement free SHS, and we delivered despite objections from John Mahama. The beauty is that many have benefited,” Dr. Bawumia stated, stressing the need for the NPP to be rewarded for its efforts.
Continuing his campaign, Dr. Bawumia visited the Eastern Region, specifically the Abetifi and Mpraeso constituencies. In Mpraeso, the paramount chiefs praised his leadership, urging Ghanaians to dismiss the ‘liar’ label often attached to him by opposition figures.
The chiefs acknowledged Dr. Bawumia’s contributions to the nation’s development, noting that under his leadership, Ghana has achieved top global rankings in several areas.
“Many are quick to label Dr. Bawumia as a liar. However, all his pronouncements are good, and he’s a good leader. Due to his efforts, Ghana is now ranked among the top three in the world in a number of areas,” they affirmed.
