Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stressed on his stance to protect the religious, moral and cultural sanctity of Ghanaians, by not supporting the legalisation of LGBTQI+ activities in the country.
While speaking to the tribal council of chiefs in Kasoa during his campaign tour in the Central Region, he stated that he will resist the practice with everything he has.
The NPP flagbearer urged the people of Kasoa to support him to become the next president.
He said: “Since independence, all vice presidents produced in Ghana have not worked more than I have. I introduced 33 different policies as vice president.
My opponent cannot even boast of one policy that he has introduced. This shows that I have passed the vice-presidential test so promote me to become president.
LGBTQ will never happen under my watch. We will resist it with everything in us.”
The chiefs declared their support for Dr. Bawumia and praised him for engaging in politics that is devoid of insults in the run-up to the December 7 polls.
“You have changed the face of politics in Ghana. We like the way you carry yourself and dwell on your policies. Now politics of insult is over. We are hopeful that by next year Ghanaians would have spoken,” one of chiefs said.
