2024 ELECTIONS SHOULD FOCUS ON ISSUES, NOT INSULTS AND VIOLENCE – BAWUMIA TO NDC

Vice President Bawumia has emphasized that the 2024 general elections should be free from the insults and violence that have often marred politics in Ghana. Instead, he advocates for a focus on issues and the substance of what candidates have to offer the nation, rather than engaging in personal attacks or violence.

Speaking at the Holiness Pentecostal Church in the Weija-Gbawe constituency as part of his Greater Accra regional tour, he urged Ghanaians to avoid insults and violence. He highlighted the importance of maintaining peace to support the country’s ongoing development.

We hope for peaceful elections this year. The focus should be on presenting your ideas rather than resorting to insults or violence. If you have ideas, share them peacefully. We must preserve the peace we currently enjoy.

As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections, Dr. Bawumia called on congregations and other faith-based groups to pray for continued peace and development in Ghana.

He then visited Ablekuma Curve in the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency for a meet-and-greet campaign and a mini rally. NPP Parliamentary Candidate Emmanuel Tobin urged supporters to intensify their house-to-house campaigns and assured Dr. Bawumia that the constituency would deliver 75% of the votes on December 7, 2024.

Dr. Bawumia also participated in a stakeholders’ meeting at Pentecost University in Sowutuom, where he promised to enhance the digitization agenda and drive positive transformation in Ghana.

At the Disciples of Christ Ministries, he assured that newborns would soon receive birth certificates and Ghana cards at their first Child Welfare Clinic. Lilian Kumah, the founder of the church and wife of the late John Kumah, expressed satisfaction with Dr. Bawumia’s visit, noting that her husband would have been pleased to see the Vice President at the church as promised.
