WE’LL SUSTAIN FREE SHS BY VOTING FOR BAWUMIA – ATONSO MARKET WOMEN

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues to gain widespread support in their efforts to “break the 8” and win this year’s general elections. Across the country, people are voicing their reasons for wanting the NPP to remain in power.

With just eighty-seven days left until the December polls, it is becoming clear that many Ghanaians view the NPP as the party capable of sustaining the economic progress achieved under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia.

Traders in various markets within the Asokwa constituency have expressed strong support for the NPP, citing the party’s commitment to poverty alleviation as a key reason. Many believe the NPP is the only party that truly represents the interests of the underprivileged.

This renewed enthusiasm comes after a visit from Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as “Chairman Wontumi,” who toured markets in the constituency. Market women, commercial drivers, and hawkers alike expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to protect key policies, such as the free Senior High School (SHS) program.

Madam Lydia, a vegetable seller at Atonso market, praised the government’s pro-poor policies, which she says have enabled six of her children to graduate from SHS over the past seven years. For her, voting against the NPP would be a sign of ingratitude.

Similarly, Auntie Mary, a cosmetics trader, voiced her frustration with those who, despite benefiting from NPP policies, would consider voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). She recalled the difficult times under the leadership of John Mahama and questioned why anyone would want to return to those days.

The market women are urging Ghanaians to set aside personal interests and vote decisively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President in 2025 and Patricia Appiagyei as Member of Parliament, ensuring a landslide victory for the NPP.
