LA TRADITIONAL COUNCIL SAYS BAWUMIA’S ‘BOLD SOLUTIONS’ WILL BRING PROGRESS TO GHANA

The La Traditional Council has conveyed its optimism that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will usher in progress for the nation through his “bold solutions” if elected President.

During a courtesy visit as part of Dr. Bawumia’s tour of the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Nii Adjei Koofeh IV, La Shikitele, welcomed him on behalf of the La Traditional Council. He acknowledged that despite 32 years of democracy in the Fourth Republic, challenges persist, and expressed hope that Dr. Bawumia’s policies would lead to “real change.”

“We have challenges with our progress,” Nii Adjei Koofeh IV said. “We know you have put together bold solutions. All that we will tell you is that these bold solutions should lead to real change.”

He added, “We are 32 years into the Fourth Republic, but the change that Ghanaians are yearning for has not yet arrived. So we hope you and your team will work hard to bring that change.”

The La Shikitele also acknowledged the significant effort Dr. Bawumia has invested in his campaign across the country and urged him not to let this effort be in vain if he becomes President without delivering genuine progress.

“You have laboured, touring the nation, putting in resources and time. There are times you and your team do not even sleep. If, after all the time spent travelling the country, you come to power and there is no change, then it amounts to nothing,” he said.

“As we know you to be a man of your word, we hope you will truly work to bring change to Ghanaians, so that La will also have its fair share.”

He concluded, “We wish you well and hope you achieve your goals. We, the people of La, will pray for you and your team—that the elders will guide you through your campaign, that nothing untoward will happen to you, and that whatever you are seeking, by the end of the vote count, you shall have it.”

In response, Dr. Bawumia took the opportunity to explain several of his policies to the traditional rulers. He detailed plans for enhanced development partnerships between his government and traditional leaders, business-friendly tax regimes, responsible and sustainable mining practices, mechanized agriculture, modern education, and a digitalized economy. He also emphasized his commitment to youth empowerment through digital training, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), and entrepreneurial support.

Dr. Bawumia has been actively campaigning in the Greater Accra Region as part of his ongoing campaign efforts.
