Vice President of Ghana and 2024 NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been praising the noteworthy effects of Ghana’s cutting-edge medical drone delivery service on healthcare, especially in light of rumours that hospitals in the UK will be testing the technology.
During his visit to the constituency, Dr. Bawumia addressed community stakeholders in Ada, saying that Ghana’s prominent position as a global leader in the delivery of vital medical supplies via drones proves that the country can accomplish great things and advance in many important areas.
“When I say it is possible I really mean it,” Dr. Bawumia said, as he shared the success “What is interesting and very remarkable is that in the whole world, Ghana is the leading country in drone delivery service. Recently US Vice President Kamala Harris congratulated Ghana for taking such the leadership for drone medical delivery.” “They are now going to start in the United States and the UK but Ghana has already moved ahead.” “We can do more than even the advanced countries if we put our minds to it. And I believe that we can transform this country.”
From its distribution centers in Omenako, Asante Mampong, Sefwi Wiawso, Anum, and Kete Krachi, Ghana, the Zipline drone medical delivery service has transported over half a million vital medical supplies to over 2700 health facilities since its launch in 2019.
Blood products, antisnake venom, and other critical medical supplies are delivered to locations that are difficult for cars to reach in an emergency.
The fact that Ghana is the world leader in drone delivery services is both intriguing and astounding.
US Vice President Kamala Harris recently commended Ghana for demonstrating such leadership in the use of drones to deliver medical care.
Ghana has previously made progress, but they will now begin in the US and the UK.
