IF YOU DOUBT THE EC’S CREDIBILITY SHARE YOUR EVIDENCE PUBLICLY – KOFI TONTO

Kofi Tonto has directed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which is the main opposition party, to either cooperate with the Electoral Commission in order to resolve their issues or release their findings to the public.

On Tuesday, September 17, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) began a nationwide protest in which they demanded that the Electoral Commission (EC) conduct an independent forensic audit of the voter registration.

Along with other demands, they instruct the EC to hold another registration exhibition following the conclusion of the independent body’s audit.

Government spokesperson Kofi Tonto said the NDC’s “adamant posture” on the matter made no sense. He questioned why the opposition party was making demands but wouldn’t provide verifiable proof.

If the NDC says they have issues with the register, they have a right to express that. But if you have issues, bring the evidence. If you don’t trust the Electoral Commission, publish the evidence so that all Ghanaians can see.
