BAWUMIA RECEIVES AN HONOR FROM JAKPA PALACE.

On Monday, September 23, the Jakpa Palace in Damongo, Savannah Region, honored Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia for his ongoing contributions to the development of the area, the traditional seat of the Gonja Kingdom.

The recognition occurred during the Yagbon Damba festival, one of the most significant traditional celebrations in the Kingdom, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad and the spread of Islam.

Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I, the King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, presented a citation to Bawumia, acknowledging his efforts in promoting growth and development in both the Gonja Kingdom and the wider Savannah region.

The citation commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for his commitment and longstanding support for the palace and the region.

Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, the NPP’s Savannah regional chairman, affectionately known as “Prof Kalamonia,” accepted the citation on behalf of Vice-President Bawumia during the same event.
