THE NPP IS MAKING AKUFO-ADDO’S LEGACY A MAJOR CAMPAIGN ISSUE TO WIN A THIRD TERM IN POWER UNDER BAWUMIA.

Ahead of the general election of 2024, President Nana Akufo-Addo is scheduled to lead a national campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

On Wednesday, October 2, the campaign is expected to begin, with the Upper East and Upper West Regions. According to reports, Akufo-Addo intends to tour all 16 areas prior to the elections on December 7, emphasizing his administration’s accomplishments as a crucial component of the NPP’s electoral strategy. Kofi Tonto, a political advisor to Bawumia, emphasized the importance of the president’s participation in the campaign when speaking on Asaase Radio’s 12 O’Clock Report.

“This election will be run on the back of his record and therefore, we cannot pretend to say that he shouldn’t participate in the campaign,” Tonto stated.

“For the last eight years this government has run on his vision and on his leadership; the achievements that we are touting are all his records and therefore there’s no better person to tout and to sort of speak to Ghanaians and account for these achievements better than his excellency, the president,” he added.

The NPP is making Akufo-Addo’s legacy a major campaign issue as the general election of 2024 draws near and they hope to win a third term in power under Bawumia.
