BAWUMIA PROMISES BETTER RESOURCES FOR TEACHERS.

Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured that the NPP government will keep supplying the necessary resources to advance education in the country.

He credited this to the value placed on education, which develops the skilled workforce essential for various sectors of the economy.

Speaking through Deputy Minister of Education for TVET, Professor Kingsley Nyarko, Dr. Bawumia gave the assurance last Thursday at the opening ceremony of the three-day Ghana Teacher Prize in Kumasi.

Under the theme “Valuing Teachers’ Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education,” the event will reach its peak today with the recognition of hardworking and deserving teachers nationwide through awards.

Your perspectives, feedback, and innovative ideas will play a crucial role in shaping the digital future. The government is dedicated to offering the support you need to excel in this evolving landscape, ensuring that you remain central to our educational reforms, he stressed.

The Vice-President emphasized that transforming the education system goes beyond policy changes and infrastructural upgrades; it’s about empowering teachers and ensuring their input helps shape the future of education.
Digital Agenda
He highlighted the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government’s launch of a transformational digital agenda, integrating technology into the heart of educational reforms.
He further explained that this initiative is intended to provide all Ghanaian students, no matter their geographical location, with access to quality education.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, in a message conveyed by the Apagyahene, Nana Owusu Afriyie IV, praised the NTC, GES, and other key institutions for their role in delivering high-quality education in Ghana.
He highlighted the importance of professional development in education and urged collective support to ensure that teachers maintain professionalism and continuously acquire the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
He called for renewed attention to school counselling, stressing its importance in the education and development of the youth as a key factor in national progress.
