President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has conveyed his unwavering confidence in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
He commended Bawumia’s initiatives, emphasizing the impact of his compelling message and impressive history of achievements. In a discussion with France24, he remarked.
I believe that first of all, he is waging a good campaign. He has a message that is resonating especially with the young people in Ghana.
He highlighted the accomplishments of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government during its nearly eight years in power, pointing out notable advancements in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and the digital economy. In spite of the economic difficulties, President Akufo-Addo is confident that the achievements of the administration lay a solid groundwork for Bawumia’s campaign.
The Ghanaian people know that the nearly eight years we were in office were not wasted. We did a lot, of major reforms in education, in our health system, in our road infrastructure, in the development of the digital economy.
President Akufo-Addo praised Bawumia for his innovative approaches, especially those focused on engaging the youth in the country’s development efforts.
He has brought some new ideas to the surface, especially how the young people can get involved in developing themselves and the nation’s economy.
