The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency in the Northern Region, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has expressed optimism that the robust political partnership between Northern Ghana and the Ashanti Region will enable the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to overcome the eight-year political cycle in the forthcoming 2024 elections.
During his address at the NPP Campaign launch for the Bantama Constituency in Kumasi, following the Bantama Big Walk 2024 event, Jinapor commended the significant turnout, which he interpreted as a strong signal that the NPP is poised for success on December 7.
He credited this positive momentum to the leadership of Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister of Roads and Highways, whom he referred to as “the diligent road builder.”
The strong alliance between Northern Ghana and Asanteman is going to break the 8 for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on December 7th, with the help of God.
Jinapor expressed his confidence, emphasizing that the candidacy of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a crucial element in the anticipated success of the party.
He further noted that the forthcoming election will focus on a comparison of the records of the NPP and the NDC. Jinapor highlighted that both candidates for the vice presidency—Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) representing the NPP and Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang from the NDC—have previously held the position of Minister of Education.
Nevertheless, he contended that NAPO’s accomplishments, especially in the implementation of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) initiative, significantly surpass the achievements of the NDC.
When we compare the two running mates, it’s like day and night.
NAPO brought Free SHS and successfully implemented it, while Prof. Jane Naana, during her time as Minister, failed to provide even basic teaching supplies, such as chalk, for schools.
Jinapor emphasized the accomplishments of the NPP administration in the energy sector, attributing the stabilization of Ghana’s electricity supply to Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s efforts during his time as Minister of Energy.
He commended NAPO’s initiatives, referring to him as a “game changer” who has effectively tackled the nation’s power issues. Additionally, the Damongo MP encouraged the residents of Bantama to support Asenso-Boakye in the forthcoming parliamentary election, urging them to secure a decisive victory for the Minister of Roads and Highways.
You’ve all seen his hard work and dedication since he became Minister. He is diligently bringing development to communities across the country.
With God on our side, come December 7th, 2024, we will celebrate the victory of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the sixth President of the Fourth Republic.
Samuel Jinapor’s address during the campaign launch highlighted the NPP’s assurance in strengthening the partnership between the Northern and Ashanti Regions, as the party prepares to attain another term in governance.
