NAPO URGES AKWATIA CONSTITUENTS TO UNITE FOR SUCCESS

The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has commended the leadership of the party in the Akwatia Constituency for their efforts in fostering unity in anticipation of the forthcoming elections.

While addressing local chiefs, members of the Muslim community, and party supporters in Akyem Wenchi and Topremang, Dr. Opoku Prempeh noted that previous divisions within the constituency had adversely impacted the party’s performance in the last elections.

He expressed his satisfaction at witnessing the previously divided factions coming together with a shared commitment to reclaim the parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party. Concluding his week-long campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh visited the Akwatia Constituency, which was once a stronghold for the NPP but shifted to the NDC in the 2020 elections.

The NPP in Akwatia Constituency is united and resolute in its mission to regain the seat from the NDC. This determination is palpable among the party’s members.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh urged the community and stakeholders to lend their unwavering support to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ernest Kumi, and the NPP, encouraging them to advocate for these candidates in marketplaces, workplaces, and throughout all areas of residence.

He highlighted the NPP’s dedication to empowering the youth, endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the most suitable candidate to address Ghana’s challenges. Dr. Prempeh called upon voters to back the NPP in the 2024 elections to ensure the continuation of its developmental initiatives.

During a gathering of chiefs and community members, NAPO conveyed his dissatisfaction with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, former President John Mahama, who has implied that Dr. Bawumia is unworthy of the presidency.

He emphasized the importance of fostering unity and avoiding divisive rhetoric that could undermine societal cohesion. NAPO asserted that Ghana’s strength is rooted in its diversity, making it essential to uphold this unity as the nation progresses.

Parliamentary Candidate Ernest Kumi reaffirmed his dedication to ongoing development efforts. He noted that past divisions have adversely affected the party within the constituency, but expressed confidence that they are now united in their goal to reclaim the lost seat.

In a related note, former MP for Akwatia, Mercy Adu Gyamfi (Ama Sey), stated that she would not be swayed by baseless accusations from certain individuals in the constituency. She committed herself fully to securing victory for the NPP in the upcoming elections on December 7.
