THE NPP WOULD LIKELY SECURE A SIGNIFICANT MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT IF ELECTIONS WERE HELD TODAY – DR. BAWUMIA

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called upon all members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to exert maximum effort in securing a parliamentary majority in the forthcoming elections scheduled for December 7.

As the Vice President and the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of solidarity among party members, particularly in challenging times, to achieve significant electoral success in both the presidential and parliamentary contests on December 7.

During a campaign visit to the Nkawkaw constituency in the Eastern region on Saturday, October 19, 2024, he expressed concern over the diminishing camaraderie within the party and urged members to present a united front to ensure electoral victory.

Addressing the issue of the current hung Parliament, Dr. Bawumia encouraged constituents and all Ghanaians to support both the NPP’s presidential and parliamentary candidates, thereby facilitating the establishment of a decisive majority in Parliament.

He asserted that such a majority would promote the efficient functioning of government operations within the legislative body.

it is as important to vote for your parliamentary candidate, as it is to vote for me.

You have all seen what has been happening in Parliament with the close numbers, 137:137 and that is worrying so we don’t want a repeat of that.

Dr. Bawumia has stated that his recent campaign tour has demonstrated significant support and empathy from the party’s grassroots, as well as from all undecided voters. He further asserted that if the elections were conducted today, the NPP would achieve a decisive victory.

There is no doubt about it. If the elections are held today, the NPP will have a decisive majority. Not a majority but a decisive majority in Parliament.

What I can assure you is that from what I know; I have been to over 200 Constituencies, I have campaigned on the ground, I have seen the data and I can tell you that if we hold the elections today, NPP will have a decisive majority in Parliament. There is no doubt about it.

The Flagbearer, nonetheless, encouraged the party’s supporters to maintain their focus, emphasizing that with the election still several days away, their attention should remain steadfast until December 7.

The election is not today. It is on December 7 and if it continues like this and we all come together, by midnight on December 7, all of you will hear that the NPP has a decisive majority in Parliament.
