THE NPP AIMS TO SECURE 300,000 VOTES IN THE VOLTA REGION

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) aims to secure 300,000 votes for its Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the forthcoming general elections scheduled for December 7, 2024.

The ruling party has formulated various strategies to accomplish this goal, which would signify approximately a 200% increase in the votes received by President Akufo-Addo during the 2020 general elections.

To this end, the NPP has initiated the Women’s Wing campaign, which is expected to play a crucial role in assisting the party in retaining power.

During the Conference, the Volta Regional NPP Secretary, Pope Yao Yevoo, emphasized the importance of the participants’ contributions towards ensuring Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in the 2024 presidential elections.

He affirmed that the target of obtaining 300,000 votes is progressing well, noting that the Volta Regional NPP Chairman, Makafui Woanyah, will lead a team to visit each constituency for an intensive campaign.

The Regional Chairman would come to every constituency to campaign. We will do house-to-house, market-to-market, desk-to-desk, room-to-room, bed-to-bed and pillow-pillow. With that, our number is assured of winning.

A member of the Volta Region NPP Campaign Committee, Barbara Quashigah, urged women to have faith in the NPP, highlighting the party’s dedication to advancing women’s interests through the appointment of women to significant roles and the development of policies and programs aimed at enhancing women’s empowerment.

My fellow women, let me take this opportunity to now tell you the truth that must be our pride for sacrificing for the course of the NPP. There is no political party in our history that has respected and promoted women than the NPP.

The Deputy National Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Hajia Safia Mohammed, urged the residents of the Volta Region to abandon the National Democratic Party (NDC) for their perceived unfair treatment of their native son, the late Jerry John Rawlings, who was the founder of the opposition party.

She encouraged them to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and allow him to serve as President for the next four years, during which he can execute his digitization agenda for Ghana.

I want to appeal to you the good people of the Volta Region to try His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia for just four years. That is my humble appeal to you. Give him a try and see whether you will see a loyal friend in him.

Hannah Ashade, the Women’s Organiser for the Volta Region, emphasized the significance of keeping the NPP in power to facilitate the nation’s advancement.

She urged her fellow party members to act as ambassadors for the NPP and Dr. Bawumia, encouraging them to contribute to the party’s success in the upcoming elections and to disrupt the eight-year cycle of power transition in the Fourth Republic.
