EDUCATION IS THE FASTEST MEANS TO HELP LIFT PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY– BAWUMIA

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stated on Tuesday that education is the most effective means of lifting individuals out of poverty.

During a rally at Adaklu Helekpe as part of his campaign tour in the Volta region, the Vice President highlighted that developed nations prioritize the education of their citizens.

He noted that the NPP government introduced the free Senior High School initiative to help alleviate poverty in the country. Since its launch in 2017, 5.7 million students have benefited from the program, which has also increased girls’ enrollment in Senior High Schools. Dr. Bawumia emphasized that if re-elected, he would focus on shifting the nation from an “import mentality” to a “production mentality.”

One of his key priorities is to establish agricultural mechanization centers in every district to transition the country from being food importers to exporters.

Additionally, he expressed his commitment to equipping the youth with digital skills to keep pace with the evolving digital landscape and create job opportunities. He also announced that under his administration, individuals with disabilities would have access to free tertiary education.

To address the historical sidelining of chiefs in governance, Dr. Bawumia proposed redefining Section 63 of the Chieftaincy Act to grant chiefs more authority, thereby alleviating pressure on the courts.

My government would strictly resist the imposition of LGBTQ+ on the country, damn the consequences

LGBTQ+ is not only a taboo for all religions but also our culture as Ghanaians

He expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received in a region often regarded as the “traditional stronghold” of the National Democratic Congress, hoping that this positive reception would translate into votes for the NPP to sustain their development agenda for the country.

Bright Nyatsikor, introduced by Dr. Bawumia as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, urged the youth to take charge of their future by voting for him to represent their interests both in and outside of Parliament.

We have been voting since 1992, but our situation remained the same so it is now time, we take the bull by the horns and change the dynamics by voting for one of us, who will represent our interest

Ms. Juliana Kpedekpo, the former Adaklu District Chief Executive and now the Deputy Director General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust, stated that Adaklu has seen its share of development projects under the NPP government. She urged the community to show their appreciation by voting in large numbers for the party.

Togbega Gbogbi Atsa V, President of the Adaklu Traditional Council, commended the government for the free Senior High School initiative in a speech delivered on his behalf.

He also requested the upgrading of the Adaklu Tsriefe-Adaklu Waya-Adaklu Torda road, which he described as being in poor condition.

In response to this appeal, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that his tour of the country was aimed not only at seeking votes but also at listening to the people’s concerns and exploring innovative solutions to address their challenges.
