The chiefs and residents of Akatsi North in the Volta Region have praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the substantial impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy on education in the country.
Welcoming Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and presidential candidate of the NPP, to Ave Havi in the Akatsi North Constituency on Tuesday, the chiefs commended the NPP government for implementing numerous social intervention programs, highlighting the Free SHS policy.
The chiefs emphasized that the Free SHS policy has revolutionized education by offering millions of Ghanaian children free access to secondary education.
Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, Torgbui Adogo Agbalek expressed appreciation to the NPP for various initiatives in the area, particularly those at Ave Senior High School, which include the construction of dormitory and classroom blocks, as well as the provision of a school bus.
Other notable projects included the construction of District Assembly offices, a Magistrate Court, bungalows, kindergarten blocks in the district, the Agenda 111 District Hospital, and the provision of DRIP equipment for road rehabilitation.
The chiefs recognized and honored Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, for his effective leadership as Vice President, stating that he has improved governance and enhanced efficiency in public service.

The traditional rulers of Akatsi North honored Dr. Bawumia by draping traditional leaves around his neck, symbolizing their confidence and support for him, while expressing their hopes for his swearing-in as the next President of Ghana next year.
