The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has revealed the government’s plans to upgrade Ho Municipality to Metropolitan status.
He noted that significant progress has been made by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, and an official announcement will follow once all criteria are fulfilled.
During the commissioning ceremony of the Ho Municipal Assembly Complex, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that this initiative responds to a request from the Asogli Traditional Council.
I have been talking to the Minister for Local Government and I am happy to say that works are far advanced on the way and very soon we will have Ho [Municipality] declared a Metro
He urged the residents of the municipality to support his agenda for advancing the country and to refrain from electing the National Democratic Congress’ John Mahama, who is advocating for a reset of the nation.
I am sure you will all agree with me that when you compare how the assembly building was before and where it is today that we are going to commission, everybody will agree that this is an upgrade. And we should not decide to reset it back to how it was
Dr. Bawumia stated that the Akufo-Addo administration has made sure that every corner of the country has benefited from equitable development over the past eight years.
This philosophy that we’ve applied in putting infrastructure in place is to ensure there is an equitable distribution across the regions so all districts can have the comparable infrastructure, and that is what we’ve been doing
He praised the government’s infrastructure development agenda as
second to none in the fourth republic
and vowed to uphold that legacy if elected as President.
This government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has accomplished so much in the area of infrastructure development across the country. Our government is second to none in the Fourth Republic when it comes to infrastructure, whether you’re talking about roads, schools, hospitals, courts, astroturf, public libraries, fish landing sites, or DRIP projects. There’s no comparison with any government in the Fourth Republic; we’ve exceeded the records of any government in these areas
The Ho Municipal Chief Executive and New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Ho Central, Divine Bosson, urged voters to support his party in recognition of the projects undertaken.
When you continue to vote, you vote for forward match, when you vote, you vote for development. For 32 years we have been electing our leaders, presidents, and MPs. They have something small to show for your votes or nothing at all
This is the time, if there is anything we can do to say thank you to the NPP as a party in government is to elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of this country. This is the time you reward me with your votes for the hard work I have given to the development of this Municipality
The newly built two-story Ho Municipal Assembly Complex features 40 offices, an assembly hall, a conference room, and additional facilities.
It is one of two complexes designated for the Volta Region to address the issue of insufficient office space in the Ho and Kpando Municipal Assemblies.
