A POSTPONED ALLOWANCE IS PREFERABLE TO A COMPLETE CANCELLATION – NAPO TO TRAINEE NURSES

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured trainee nurses that the government is actively working to ensure timely payment of their allowances.

During his address to students at the Korle-Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Prempeh underscored the NPP’s dedication to reinstating and upholding the allowances that were previously abolished by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He acknowledged that while there may be occasional delays in payments, such instances are preferable to the complete elimination of the allowances, a situation that was faced during the tenure of the NDC.

There may be delays, but allowances delayed are better than allowances cancelled.

He reassured the students that the NPP values their input in the healthcare sector and is dedicated to implementing policies that will enhance their well-being and professional prospects.

The students of the institution conveyed their awareness of the significance of their votes in the forthcoming elections scheduled for December 7.

They expressed the belief that endorsing the NPP and its initiatives, such as the free Senior High School (SHS) program, would create a positive and enduring influence on future generations, including their younger siblings.

Additionally, they expressed their backing for NPP projects like Agenda 111, which seeks to establish hospitals nationwide and provide future job opportunities for healthcare professionals.

The students also emphasized the importance of a reliable power supply as a crucial factor in their support.
