Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art office complex for the Ho Municipal Assembly, a project funded through the District Assembly Common Fund.
For decades, the Assembly and its departments had operated from a colonial-era building. This new structure, completed in March, provides a significant modernization, marking a new chapter for the Assembly’s operations.
The GHC 15 million facility includes over 80 modern office spaces and conference rooms, eliminating long-standing challenges posed by limited space and outdated facilities.
Highlighting the project as a vital step in upgrading assembly infrastructure, the Vice President emphasized the Government’s commitment to citizen welfare.
“President Akufo-Addo’s government has done so much in infrastructural development. Our government is second to none in terms of infrastructure in Ghana,” he stated.
As the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his dedication to the party’s principle of equitable development, which he described as the core of its ideology.
Local stakeholders, including traditional and political leaders, have long advocated for elevating Ho to a Metropolitan status. In response, Dr. Bawumia assured that work on the upgrade was advancing and would materialize soon.
Volta Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa noted that similar projects across other assemblies in the region had significantly enhanced administrative efficiency, calling them “legacy projects” of the NPP. He praised the dedication of the Ho MCE, who has also driven numerous infrastructure projects, including road improvements and staff housing.
MCE Divine Bosson expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the new office complex, extending his appreciation to traditional leaders and other stakeholders. As the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, he urged the community to support the Party in the upcoming election, highlighting the benefits of sustained development under NPP leadership.
“Electing Bawumia is the best way to say thank you to the NPP,” he said.
Togbe Ayim Adzokoto, the Paramount Chief of Takla, commended the Government’s efforts and expressed hope for continued development to benefit the regional capital.
