KETA RESIDENTS MOB DR. BAWUMIA

Students at the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training College (NMTC) created a significant scene yesterday as they welcomed Vice President Bawumia during his campaign tour of the Volta Region.

As the Vice President approached the campus, prior to even exiting his vehicle, he was surrounded by a throng of students who made it exceedingly difficult for him to step out.

They enthusiastically chanted phrases such as “it is possible” and “papa oo dental,” while brandishing flags of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The Vice President’s security team faced considerable challenges navigating through the dense crowd to escort him to the auditorium, where he was scheduled to engage with stakeholders.

Several students expressed their joy to reporters, attributing their excitement to their status as beneficiaries of the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative implemented by the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration.

Sir, if not for this Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government’s introduction and implementation of the Free SHS policy, some of us would not have been able go to secondary school, let alone come to enjoy the Nursing Training College allowance that was cancelled by former President Mahama and his NDC who are seeking to come back and rule Ghana.

A student conveyed this information to the reporter.

Mabel Kafui Torku, the principal of the school, expressed her admiration for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP government. She expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided during the recent storm that damaged their auditorium.

In a manner reminiscent of Oliver Twist, she expressed a desire for further support for the school, specifically requesting Dr. Bawumia’s assistance in acquiring projectors, laptop computers or tablets, motorbikes, and a backup electricity generator or charged plant.

Dr. Bawumia assured them of his commitment to addressing their needs to enhance teaching and learning, which elicited enthusiastic applause and cheers from the students.

Togbe Joachim Acolatse V, the Dufia of Kedzi, representing the Keta Traditional Council, remarked on the visible developmental initiatives of the current government in the constituency, affirming that the people of Keta are rallying behind the NPP in the forthcoming election.
