AAP ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR NPP’S BAWUMIA

The newly registered Action Alliance Party (AAP) has formally announced its endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 2024 general election.

AAP expressed that it’s vision closely aligns with that of the NPP flagbearer, especially in areas of digitalization and economic transformation.

A statement signed by AAP’s founder and chairman, Namuru Tahiru, and released to The Ghanaian Times on Monday noted,

Dr. Bawumia’s vision for Ghana resonates with our party’s goals. His dedication to digitalization and economic transformation deeply reflects our aspirations for a green economic transition.

The AAP received its final certification from the Electoral Commission on October 2, 2024, meeting all criteria, including establishing a presence in all 275 constituencies nationwide.

The statement outlined the AAP’s vision for Ghana, emphasizing a comprehensive plan focusing on an agricultural revolution, technological advancement, and educational reform.

The AAP advocates for modern farming techniques, sustainable practices, and the integration of technology within agriculture to boost food security and enhance farmers’ prosperity.

The statement highlighted the party’s commitment to leveraging technology to advance agricultural practices through initiatives like smart farming, precision agriculture, and data analytics for resource optimization and yield enhancement.

On education, the party supports a system that is accessible and geared toward 21st-century demands, promoting vocational training and STEM education to equip youth with skills to compete globally.

In cautioning against opposition policies, the AAP warned,

A vote for RESET means a return to DUMSOR.

referencing the power outages that previously disrupted the nation. The party added that

A reset equates to the removal of teacher allowances, and a reset is like erasing your computer’s memory.

AAP affirmed the commitment of its leadership—including National Executives, Regional Executives, Constituency Executives, and the Council of Elders—to actively campaign for Dr. Bawumia and NPP parliamentary candidates across all constituencies leading up to the December 7 election.
