Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has praised Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare as a transformative leader who has achieved substantial results since taking on the role.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted that the IGP is steadily working toward his vision of making the Ghana Police Service a benchmark for excellence in Africa and beyond.
During the graduation ceremony of the 53rd Police Cadet Officers’ Course in Accra, the Vice President expressed pride in the accomplishments of Dr. Dampare and his management team.
The comprehensive reorientation and reform of the Ghana Police Service under Inspector General Dr. George Akuffo Dampare have delivered tangible outcomes; outcomes that bring me pride as Chairman of the Police Council.
I am honored to stand with such a visionary leader who is setting new standards and is well on his way to establishing the Ghana Police Service as a model of excellence across Africa and beyond. Dr. Dampare, the reformer, congratulations to you and your team.

The IGP and his management team’s dedication to continuous improvement has extended to the Police Academy. Supported by the government, the Police Administration has launched extensive infrastructure upgrades at the training facility, transforming its appearance.
Dr. Bawumia additionally commended the Police Service leadership for their empathy in visiting the families affected by the East Legon accident.
I was especially moved by the recent visit of the IGP and his team to the families and victims of the tragic East Legon accident, which claimed the lives of two young women. This level of commitment goes above and beyond, and I encourage the graduating class to embody this spirit of service as you step into your roles.
