Former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, will join NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, marking a significant demonstration of party solidarity as the 2024 election draws near.

His involvement is set to amplify the campaign’s drive, aligning with the NPP’s goal to “break the 8” and secure a third consecutive term.
Starting on Monday, November 4, 2024, the tour will last two weeks, during which Dr. Bawumia will present a vision for Ghana focused on building a digital economy, establishing a strong credit system to spur economic growth and job creation, creating a tax regime favorable to businesses, prioritizing environmental sustainability, and supporting the “gold-for-oil” policy to help stabilize the cedi.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Minister for Food and Agriculture, is set to join NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, commencing Monday, November 4, 2024. This collaboration underscores the party’s unity as the 2024 elections approach.
Known as the “farmers’ friend,” Dr. Afriyie Akoto will highlight the substantial agricultural support provided by the Akufo-Addo administration over the past eight years, emphasizing initiatives benefiting Ghana’s 3.6 million farmers. His message aims to encourage the farming community to vote for continuity in the upcoming elections.
