The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will receive investment tax exemptions if he is elected President.
Outlining his vision for job creation for the youth, Dr. Bawumia revealed plans to establish a dedicated SMEs bank aimed at addressing the specific needs of small-scale businesses.
He emphasized the vital role of SMEs in Ghana’s economy, noting, “SMEs employ approximately 80% of Ghanaians, making it essential to focus on their unique needs.”
Dr. Bawumia further assured SME owners that his administration would offer investment tax credits to Ghanaian startups in key strategic sectors for their first three years of operation. Recognizing the challenges startups face in their early years, he believes this support will enable them to establish a firm footing and contribute to job creation.
