On Wednesday, November 6, during his visit to the Central Region, President Akufo-Addo expressed his disapproval of opposition leader John Dramani Mahama’s record in economic management.
He highlighted the closure of the Kumasi Brewery, which had previously operated around the clock, as a clear indication of Mr. Mahama’s failure to maintain essential industries during his administration.
President Akufo-Addo claimed that Mr. Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is not a trustworthy candidate, describing him as unreliable in fulfilling commitments.
He called upon Ghanaians to remember the economic difficulties experienced during Mahama’s presidency and to be cautious about the prospect of his return to power in the forthcoming elections.
The President cautioned that re-electing Mahama would constitute a “mistake,” asserting that the nation would not advance but rather regress under his leadership.
President Akufo-Addo stressed the importance of stability and continuity in governance to promote sustainable development, encouraging voters to back his administration’s initiatives.
He concluded by advising Ghanaians against repeating what he referred to as past “errors” by supporting the former president. The essence of President Akufo-Addo’s message was clear: Ghana should strive to avoid regression and concentrate on building upon recent achievements to secure enduring progress.
John Dramani Mahama will come here again before we vote in December 2024. When he comes, ask him about the Kumasi Brewery. It produced beer and Guinness, operating in three shifts within 24 hours. It collapsed during his tenure.
You want a 24-hour economy but couldn’t oversee what was left in your care. Is it now that you are going to do something about it?
Let’s not make a mistake and retrogress. Let’s throw our weight behind Bawumia and move forward to take Ghana to the next step of development.
