Allotey Jacobs has countered the claims made by certain members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that Donald Trump’s election as the 47th President of the United States signifies a guaranteed victory for John Dramani Mahama in Ghana’s presidential election scheduled for December 7.
Trump secured 279 electoral votes, defeating Kamala Harris, who received 223 votes.
In the wake of Trump’s election announcement, there has been a surge of social media commentary suggesting a decisive win for Mr. Mahama, a former President seeking re-election against the current Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
While the NDC celebrates the results of the US election, Allotey Jacobs firmly believes that the outcome of the US election will not reflect the results of Ghana’s election.
He asserts that the NDC is under a misconception, believing that Mahama’s victory in the December 7 elections is assured due to Donald Trump’s success.
I’d wish to see a female President in Ghana. For Harris to lose the elections, America is not ready for a female President nor will Ghana be ready for a female Vice President.
