The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has pledged to the overlord of Mamprugu, Ndugna Nayiri Naa Bohugu Abdulai Sheriga, and the residents of Mamprugu that he will exert every effort to ensure the victory of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 election.
During a courtesy visit to Nayiri as part of his campaign tour in Nalerigu, the capital of the Northeast Region, NAPO stated that the citizens of the Ashanti Region are committed to supporting Dr. Bawumia.
I’m confident in Bawumia’s potential to transform Ghana’s future as president.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh visited the King of Mamprugu, Nayiri Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, at the Nayiri Palace located in Nalerigu, within the Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency, to request his prayers, blessings, and guidance.
He reiterated his dedication to supporting Nayiri’s eldest son, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Nayiri, via his spokesperson, bestowed blessings upon the running mate. The stool secretary, representing both the Nayiri and the people of Mamprugu, expressed gratitude to Nana Akufo-Addo for his unwavering support and commitment to “our son,” Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic.
He called upon NAPO and the NPP government to prioritize the necessary development in the newly established regions. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh emphasized the importance of Bawumia’s candidacy in galvanizing support and strengthening the party’s influence in the region.
The current administration’s social interventions, including the Free SHS policy and National Health Insurance Scheme, would be better safeguarded under an NPP government.
He also spoke at a large rally to present all the parliamentary candidates in the area. He emphasized that the NPP Presidential ticket represents Ghana’s dedication to peaceful coexistence, surpassing religious and ethnic divisions, a principle they are resolutely committed to protecting.
He noted that the NPP has formed a partnership with Muslims and the residents of the Northern Region, providing them with the opportunity to experience leadership, in contrast to the NDC, which merely seeks their votes. Therefore, he declared it inappropriate for any Muslim to support the NDC.
