MAHAMA HAS THE POOREST ECONOMIC RECORD AMONG GHANA’S FOURTH REPUBLIC PRESIDENTS – DR. BAWUMIA

Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has characterized the economic management of former President John Dramani Mahama as the most ineffective among the leaders of Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

During his address at the inaugural Ghana CEO-Presidential Gala Dinner 2024 in Accra, Dr. Bawumia pointed out the difficulties encountered during Mahama’s administration, emphasizing failures in job creation, gross international reserves, primary balance, and agricultural development.

Dr. Bawumia noted that the current NPP administration has successfully generated 2.6 million jobs from 2017 to 2024, despite the prevailing global economic challenges.

The event, which attracted prominent business leaders, was themed “Reigniting the Business Economy and Social Contract for Growth: A Business Manifesto for Political Accountability and Sustainable Development.”

Dr. Bawumia expressed optimism about further advancing economic growth through innovative and business-friendly policies, acknowledging the existing challenges while asserting that the Ghanaian economy is poised for recovery.

Daniel McKorley, CEO of McDan Group, also addressed the gathering, calling on the government to adopt policies that more effectively support the private sector.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between government and private enterprises to foster economic growth.
