The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has expressed his disapproval of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for crediting former President John Dramani Mahama with infrastructure projects that were executed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a Facebook statement dated Wednesday, 13 November, Nkansah raised concerns regarding what he perceives as an effort by the NDC to claim ownership of initiatives that were initiated and completed during the NPP administration.
He pointed out that although Mahama held the presidency for four years, the NDC has purportedly sought to take credit for infrastructure advancements that were realized under the NPP’s governance.
Nkansah contended that such claims are both misleading and unjust, as they overlook the contributions of the current government. He asserted that the NPP has made considerable progress in infrastructure development since assuming office, and these accomplishments should not be disregarded or misrepresented.
The NEIP CEO firmly stated that the NPP will oppose any efforts by the NDC to attribute projects to Mahama that were executed during the tenure of the ruling party.
He underscored the NPP’s pride in its achievements in infrastructure development and its commitment to ensuring that the party’s contributions are accurately acknowledged. Nkansah further noted that the current administration’s successes reflect its dedication to national advancement and development.
In his statement, Nkansah called on NPP supporters to remain alert and to counter any misleading narratives regarding the party’s accomplishments. He stressed the significance of clarifying the record, particularly in the lead-up to the forthcoming elections, where accurate information will be vital in influencing voter choices.
Fmr President Mahama was President for only 4 years but our NDC friends want to give him credit for every Infrastructure project we post.
Funding for the construction of the University of Engineering And Agricultural Science at Bunso in the Eastern Region was approved by Parliament in 2018 so how could it be an NDC project?
