Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed his endorsement for Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, highlighting his commitment to technology and digitalization.
In a recent interview with Asempa FM, President Kufuor emphasized that technology and digitalization represent essential global trends in contemporary governance.
He asserted that Ghana requires a leader who comprehends and values these advancements, a quality that Bawumia has demonstrated “consistently.”
We need somebody like him who understands modern trends in global affairs and also technology and digitalization. These are the trends in developed countries like America and others.
Emphasizing the importance and substantial effect of technology on a global scale, President Kufuor highlighted the role of American billionaire Elon Musk, noting that his technological expertise enables him to wield considerable influence.
About this digital technology, have you heard about Elon Musk in America?…When was the last time, in the past years that you heard one man was so powerful as Elon Musk is? He is so powerful that when he speaks, the American President, the Russian President all listen. It is because of this new technology he controls even though he is very young.
These technologies are very important and key to the transformation of the country and Bawumia has clearly showed how he wants to apply it in our banking system, our electoral system, governance system and how he wants to apply it in the tax system for our business people to be relieved and grow their businesses. He has also showed how he wants to apply it in healthcare. Just look at the drone system and all that.
The former President reaffirmed his strong confidence in Bawumia, stating that he has closely monitored Bawumia’s conduct and vision. He is persuaded that the Vice President is the “man of the moment” capable of advancing the nation.
I have observed him and his policies that is why I say he is the man of the moment. We need all these things he talks about.
