The Paramount Chief of Kumawu, Barima Sarpong Tweneboa Kodua, has expressed his appreciation to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), President Nana Akufo-Addo, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for their significant contributions to education and development in the Kumawu area, particularly through the groundbreaking Free Senior High School (SHS) program.
During a reception held in honor of Dr. Bawumia, who is currently touring the Ashanti Region, the paramount chief referred to the Free SHS policy as a landmark achievement that has favorably affected every household in Kumawu.
The traditional leader emphasized that this initiative has made education accessible to all children in the region, alleviating considerable financial burdens for parents.
Thanks to Free SHS and the school feeding program, all parents need to do is provide a few items for their children.
Barima Sarpong Tweneboa Kodua commended the NPP government for its significant contributions to local infrastructure and job creation. He highlighted various initiatives, including the establishment of a 120-bed hospital, a National Service Scheme project in Sekyere Afram Plains, and the development of a modern district assembly complex, as clear indicators of the government’s commitment to community advancement.
Furthermore, the chief recognized the improvements made to local roadways through the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) and expressed gratitude for the prompt provision of two pickup vehicles by Dr. Bawumia, which were requested to enhance local security.
In expressing his support for Dr. Bawumia’s forthcoming presidential campaign, the Kumawumanhene encouraged the Vice President to persist in disseminating his message, assuring him of the steadfast backing from Kumawu.
Additionally, the chief requested the elevation of Kumawu to a municipal assembly status to enhance local governance and foster development.
The people of Kumawu and Ghana will reward the NPP for their excellent work at the polls.
