Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasized the importance of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and research institutions within Ghana’s governance framework.
During a meeting with several CSOs in Accra on Wednesday, November 20, the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate articulated his intention to collaborate closely with these organizations and research entities upon assuming the presidency, in order to benefit from their extensive expertise.
My father used to tell me that if you want to have sense, talk to sensible people. I believe you, the CSOs have a lot to offer. I look forward to working with you and research institutions including the Universities very closely.
Dr. Bawumia outlined his accomplishments as Vice President and the initiatives he plans to implement to further Ghana’s development during his presidency in discussions with the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). Notably, he emphasized his dedication to leveraging technology to enhance the economy and combat corruption.
I want to build a country of inclusiveness with good governance and transparency that all of you care about…We are going to be fighting a lot of entrenched interests in many sectors and I will really need the support of the CSOs to fight it.
People are making money from the status quo, so they don’t want anything that fights corruption. But the interest of the nation should be paramount, not the interest of some few people. I believe we can do it together.
