AKUFO-ADDO URGES THE ARMED FORCES TO MAINTAIN NEUTRALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

President Akufo-Addo has urged the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to uphold professionalism, remain neutral, and ensure the safety and security of all citizens during the December 7 elections.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of the Ghana Military Academy in Teshie, Accra, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the crucial role the officers play in protecting the nation’s peace and stability.

The graduation parade, which involved the short services commission and special duties intake 61, saw 73 cadets commissioned as officers under the supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The President emphasized that the right to free and fair elections was non-negotiable.

our democracy will remain steadfast and unshaken

President Akufo-Addo described safeguarding the nation’s peace as a sacred trust.

He pledged to leave office with the highest respect for democratic processes, emphasizing his commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring a peaceful transfer of power.

No ambitions of any politician or political party will ever compromise the peace and stability that we as a nation have worked so hard to build and enjoy

The President commended the Military Academy for maintaining high training standards, recognizing its success in producing skilled officers who have been well-prepared for service over the years.
