John Boadu, the former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the current Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), has expressed strong confidence in his party’s success in the forthcoming elections scheduled for December.
Ghana is set to hold elections on December 7 to select the next President and parliamentary representatives. Approximately 18 million voters are anticipated to participate in this electoral process.
In the lead-up to election day, various surveys have emerged, attempting to predict the outcome of the elections. Among the primary candidates, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party and John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress, the surveys have yielded mixed results, with some indicating a victory for Mahama while others favor Bawumia.
The most recent survey conducted by Prof. Smart Sarpong, a senior researcher at Kumasi Technical University, shows Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leading with 49.1%, compared to John Mahama’s 45.8%.
In light of these surveys and the vigorous campaign efforts by his party’s presidential candidate, John Boadu has forecasted a decisive victory for Dr. Bawumia.
He urged supporters and members of the New Patriotic Party to mobilize in large numbers to ensure the success of their candidate. During an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ program, John Boadu emphasized the importance of this mobilization.
We are winning these elections. We are winning because of the things we have done within 8 years.
