NEIP CEO SAYS MAHAMA’S HOSPITAL INFRASTRUCTURE LAGS BEHIND AKUFO-ADDO’S

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama trails behind President Akufo-Addo in terms of hospital infrastructure development.

In a Facebook statement on Thursday, November 28, Mr. Nkansah highlighted that President Akufo-Addo’s government has made notable progress in expanding healthcare facilities nationwide, especially with the Agenda 111 hospitals project, which seeks to establish hospitals in every district.

He contrasted Akufo-Addo’s extensive healthcare development with the limited number of hospitals built during Mahama’s tenure, suggesting that the former president’s efforts were concentrated in just a few regions, particularly in Accra.

According to Nkansah, this disparity highlights the current government’s commitment to ensuring that every Ghanaian, regardless of their location, has access to proper healthcare facilities.

The NEIP CEO further highlighted that President Akufo-Addo’s government has been proactive in addressing healthcare needs by ensuring that hospitals are not only built in urban centres but also in rural and underserved areas.

He pointed to the rapid progress made under the Agenda 111 initiative, with numerous facilities either completed or under construction.

On which President did better with providing Health Infrastructure, President Akufo-Addo has ensured every District is getting a Hospital whereas Fmr Prez Mahama built 3 or 4 big Hospitals in Greater Accra, if we even grant him UGMC which is a Prez Mills project

Some People in Accra will draw conclusions based on 4 facilities in Gt. Accra when one President is touching every part of the country. The difference is not even close

Nkansah’s comments highlight the intensifying political debate on infrastructure development, with the Akufo-Addo administration asserting that it has far outpaced its predecessor in healthcare investments.
