Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has earnestly urged party members to extend forgiveness to one another and to diligently strive for a decisive victory on December 7.
He emphasized that the primary objective for all party members and supporters should be to secure a win in this year’s general elections in order to enhance the nation’s welfare.
Affectionately known as NAPO, he delivered this message during a campaign rally held at the forecourt of the Okyenhene Palace in Kyebi on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He called for unity among the members, stating.
you will recall that in 2008, despite all the good works of President Kufuor, we lost the elections because we didn’t do enough to unite our ranks. We cannot repeat that mistake. We must realize that we can only win elections when we are united and when that happens, the NDC cannot compete with us in any elections. So, let us be guided and learn to forgive each other for party’s sake.
NAPO visited the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi accompanied by his grand uncle, H.E. President John Agyekum Kufuor, the Second President of the Fourth Republic, to pay a courtesy call on the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II.
The objective of their visit was to extend congratulations to the Okyenhene on the occasion of his 25th anniversary and to request his blessings and wise counsel.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II expressed his support and blessings for the party, particularly regarding their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his quest to secure victory in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Additionally, he praised President Kufuor for the numerous social initiatives he introduced during his administration, which he acknowledged as having established a robust foundation for Ghana’s socioeconomic development.
