LET’S MAKE DECEMBER 7 ELECTION PEACEFUL – COKA URGES VOTERS

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Afigya Kwabere South Constituency, commonly referred to as Chairman Coka, has urged for a peaceful electoral process on December 7.

During a church service held in the Afigya Kwabere South Constituency on Friday, November 29, 2024, Chairman Coka highlighted the necessity of upholding the electoral process and adhering to the laws of the country.

We’re not going to fight; we’re not going to insult each other. We’re going to exercise our ‘Kokromoti power’ (franchise).

He further emphasized to the audience that the officers of the Electoral Commission are drawn from their own community and, as such, merit their respect.

Let’s give the needed respect to the regulations of the Electoral Commission officers at the various polling stations. They are our relatives, friends, husbands and wives so let’s respect them.

Chairman Coka’s appeal for peace arises at a pivotal moment in Ghana’s electoral history. The nation is gearing up for its fifth presidential transition since the reestablishment of democratic multiparty politics in 1992.

The upcoming elections are anticipated to be intensely competitive, as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) contends with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
