DON’T TRADE FREE SHS FOR NDC ‘BRIBES’ – COLLINS OWUSU AMANKWAH

A representative of the Ashanti Heritage Platform (AHP) and former Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah, has made an urgent appeal to the citizens of Ghana as the nation approaches a significant election this Saturday.

During a press conference held in Kumasi on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Hon Owusu Amankwah warned Ghanaians to be wary of the financial incentives being promised by the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He underscored the necessity of making well-informed choices that would not compromise the future of the nation’s youth, particularly concerning the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative.

I urge all Ghanaians to be cautious. The NDC is offering money, but we must not compromise the future of our children for a mere 1,000.

His comments arise in the context of reports indicating that the NDC is seeking to attract voters through financial commitments, particularly as the 2024 general elections approach.

The Free SHS initiative, launched by the present administration, has been recognized as one of the most impactful policies in recent history, greatly enhancing access to secondary education for numerous students nationwide.

Owusu Amankwah, a fervent advocate of the initiative, voiced significant apprehension regarding the possible consequences of an NDC win.

Voting for the NDC would put the Free SHS program at risk. This program has been transformative for countless Ghanaian families, and we cannot afford to lose it.

The initiative has been highlighted as a significant opportunity for numerous young Ghanaians, allowing them to engage in secondary education free from the financial constraints that once held them back.

For countless families, this policy has served as a crucial support system, guaranteeing that their children can finish their education and work towards a more promising future.
