AKUFO-ADDO QUESTIONS MAHAMA, WHAT ARE YOU HERE TO DO?

President Nana Akufo-Addo has questioned what former President John Mahama is coming back to do at the Jubilee House after being rejected by the people of Ghana in 2016 and 2020.

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer suffered a humiliating defeat after Ghanaians experienced his poor governance, which was marked by erratic power supply.

All the leaders under the fourth Republic had the opportunity to serve a two-term in office as guaranteed by the constitution, with the exception of the late J.E.A Mills who was whisked away by death. Mr. John Dramani Mahama is the only president under the fourth Republic who has been rejected twice after serving his first term in office

Akufo-Addo was speaking at a durbar organized in his honour by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in Kyebi as part of his ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Eastern Region.

As the December 7 election draws near, Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to reject Mahama once again.

He stated that Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is the best person to continue the numerous social interventions and projects undertaken by his administration.

On Saturday, I want you to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to protect and continue all the developmental projects I’ve started

He added that Mahama has exhibited to the world that he doesn’t believe in all his policies including free SHS, the Agenda 111, the 1D1F project, and the numerous projects under his administration, hence a vote for him will jeopardize them.

Mahama doesn’t have a clear policy; he goes around claiming he will reset Ghana. But is ‘reset’ a policy? He talks about a 24-hour economy, yet whenever asked for clarification, he says it’s voluntary. You couldn’t even ensure a stable power supply for 24 hours, but now you want to implement a 24-hour economy? How?” the president questioned.

He criticized those using religious cards in this election, emphasizing that all Ghanaians, regardless of their religious beliefs, have the same rights and privileges.

The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, stated that only a visionary leader, someone who considers the future generations, could have made the many decisions that President Nana Akufo-Addo has taken during his tenure.

The Okyenhene also noted that the Free SHS Policy will go down in history as one of the greatest achievements for Ghana.

Today, many people may not see the impact of free SHS, but in the near future, we shall appreciate it. No child should be denied basic education irrespective of the financial standing of their parents or family

He added that, posterity will be the best judge.
