ASHAIMAN EWE COMMUNITY LEADER THANKS BAWUMIA FOR HIS RESPECT

The Chief of the Ewe Community in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region, Torgbui Aheto Exa III, has expressed his gratitude to Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for making a historic visit to their community.

As part of his campaign tour in the Ashaiman Constituency, Dr. Bawumia visited the Ashaiman Ewe Chiefs and elders to hear their concerns and share his vision and policies for the country.

In his welcome speech, Torgbui Aheto Exa III thanked Dr. Bawumia for what he described as an unprecedented visit to the Ewe community.

“I must say that this is the first time any senior politician has visited Ashaiman and has singled out the Ewe community for such a visit,” said Torgbui Aheto Exa III.

“We will never forget this visit and this gesture,” he added.

The Chief also humorously referenced a famous remark by former Ugandan President Iddi Amin, who once told the Queen of England that he would “retaliate” her hospitality when she visited Uganda.

“Just as Iddi Amin said, we will also never forget your historic visit and we will retaliate,” he said, to the amusement of the audience.

He went on to highlight the significant presence of the Ewe community in Ashaiman, noting their importance in shaping electoral outcomes in the constituency.

The Chief further commended Dr. Bawumia for his campaign style and urged him to continue spreading a message of unity.

In his response, Dr. Bawumia expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from the Chiefs and the people. He reaffirmed his commitment to building a nation where opportunities are available to everyone, regardless of ethnicity or religion.

“Building one Ghana and creating opportunities for all is my priority,” Dr. Bawumia emphasized, underscoring his message of unity.

Dr. Bawumia also used the occasion to outline several policies he plans to implement in his vision for transforming the nation as President.
