AVOID THE MISTAKE OF 2008; LET THE NPP CONTINUE ITS COMMENDABLE EFFORTS – NAPO

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called upon the residents of Assin North to avoid repeating the error made in 2008, when they voted against the NPP government, resulting in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) assuming power.

This remark was made during a meeting with local chiefs, Imams, and religious leaders at Assin Praso within the Assin North Constituency of the Central Region.

He asserted that the NDC misled the Ghanaian populace with empty promises, which ultimately led to the removal of President Kufuor’s administration, despite its notable accomplishments.

He cautioned that should the NDC regain power, they would reverse the advancements achieved by the current government, while Dr. Bawumia would persist in enhancing these successes.

Stephen Asamoah Boateng, the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, also urged the community to help end the pattern of changing governments every eight years, which he believes obstructs the nation’s progress.

He encouraged them to permit the NPP to continue overseeing the nation’s governance. Nana Asiedu Appau, the Adontenhene of Assin Akonfudi, recognized the positive contributions of the NPP in the region, particularly highlighting the Agenda 111 hospital in Assin Bereku and the Praso-Fosu road.

Nevertheless, he also appealed to the government to address some of the urgent needs of the community.
