BAWUMIA ASSURES MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT, URGES VOLTA REGION TO SUPPORT NPP

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, has called on the Volta Region to lend strong support to the party to ensure continuity of development projects.

During a campaign tour in Keta, Volta Region, Dr. Bawumia urged constituents to unite behind the NPP, promising more policies and interventions that aim to secure a brighter future. He highlighted plans to assist fisherfolk along the coast with new solar-powered outboard motors, designed to address fuel shortages and enhance productivity.

“We recognize that limited premix fuel supply is a major issue for our fishermen,” he noted. “To address this, we’ll introduce outboard motors powered by solar and electricity, significantly reducing fuel dependency.”

Dr. Bawumia outlined that his administration would not only provide training on using these motors but also make them available on a credit basis, ensuring accessibility for all.

He further proposed a “Buy Ghana First” policy to stimulate local job creation and boost the economy. Women entrepreneurs, he said, would gain access to trade empowerment funds, allowing them to expand their businesses.

Additionally, Dr. Bawumia committed to amending Section 63 of the Chieftaincy Act, which would extend greater authority to traditional leaders. Under the proposed policy, Queen Mothers, Divisional Chiefs, and Paramount Chiefs would receive government support, including placement on payrolls.

Dr. Bawumia also pledged to support religious organizations, recognizing them as partners in societal development. He promised initiatives aimed at providing free tertiary education for persons with disabilities, creating impactful change.

Taking a firm stance, he reiterated that the NPP does not support LGBTQI+ practices, stating that it contradicts Ghanaian societal, religious, and cultural values.

As the rally concluded, he urged eligible voters to consider the NPP’s policies and vote in favor of both the presidential and parliamentary candidates, aiming to secure a victory for the party in the upcoming election.

The atmosphere in Keta was charged, with thousands of enthusiastic supporters donning NPP colors and chanting victory songs. Supporters expressed optimism, sharing their belief that the NPP will succeed on December 7 to ensure the continuation of beneficial policies.
