Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has responded to the passing of Akua Donkor, the 2024 presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).
In a Facebook tribute, Dr. Bawumia recognized Madam Donkor’s contributions to Ghana’s democracy and extended his condolences to her family and the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).
I write to commiserate with the family and political party of Madam Akua Donkor, who until her death was the 2024 presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party. She played her part in consolidating our democracy. May the soul of Madam Akua Donkor rest in peace
Akua Donkor was among the 13 candidates approved by the Electoral Commission (EC) to participate in the upcoming presidential elections on December 7, 2024.
She passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, following a brief illness.
