President Nana Akufo-Addo has voiced his strong support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, affirming that his vice president has been a loyal and effective partner during their time in office.
During his October 29 tour of the Ahafo Region, Akufo-Addo praised Bawumia’s consistency and commitment since they began their journey together in 2008, stating,
I can’t say a single negative thing about Dr. Bawumia
Akufo-Addo also reinforced his dedication to Ghana’s progress, emphasizing that Dr. Bawumia is well-suited to lead the country forward. He expressed confidence in Bawumia’s vision and capabilities, viewing them as crucial for driving Ghana’s development.
The president contrasted Dr. Bawumia’s leadership potential with that of opposition candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama, noting that Mahama’s previous term from 2012 to 2016 lacked the transformative direction Ghana needs today. Akufo-Addo argued that Mahama cannot advance the nation’s development as effectively as Bawumia.
Speaking to the people of Ahafo, he urged them to show strong support for Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming election, encouraging a resounding vote for the vice president’s vision to sustain the nation’s progress.
I can vouch for his capabilities and his ability to lead the country, and I will not leave Ghana for someone who can’t do the job. God will not allow that to happen
Dr. Bawumia was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana when I brought him into politics. When I first picked him in 2008, even though we lost the polls, I kept faith with him and kept him for the 2012 election, which we also lost. But, God being so good, we won the 2016 election, and I have not seen any bad thing from him since I first met him
