On Sunday, 15th September, 2024, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu II celebrated the rich cultural legacy and history of the Asante Mampong people.
The Amaniampong Silver Stool’s history and significance were chronicled in the commemorative book “The Silver Stool Stabilised; Actors, Heroes, Impact,” which was released to honor the occasion.
Being there at the event, which Dr. Bawumia claimed represented Daasebre Osei Bonsu II’s steady contributions and progressive rule, made him proud.
He said that the Mamponghene’s emphasis on development and education is an inspiration to both the current and next generations, and he thanked him for it.
The Vice President stated that the book would stand the test of time and solidify the crucial role that traditional leaders play in establishing a nation.
He gave Daasebre Osei Bonsu high marks for his wise guidance and vision, which have enabled the Asante Mampong people to flourish.
Dignitaries, community members, and traditional leaders attended the book’s launch. The vibrant ceremony highlighted the Asante Mampong people’s rich cultural legacy.
In his remarks, Dr Bawumia said, “I am honored to be part of this occasion, which celebrates the rich history and cultural heritage of the people of Asante Mampong. The launch of this book is a significant milestone in the history of this great kingdom, and I am proud to be associated with it.” He added, “Daasebre Osei Bonsu II is a shining example of a traditional leader who has used his position to bring development and prosperity to his people”. “His focus on education and development is an inspiration to us all, and I do not doubt that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.”
