BAWUMIA TO ESTABLISH TOMATO PROCESSING FACTORY IN AKUMADAN

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to establish a tomato processing factory in Akomadan, located in the Offinso North constituency of the Ashanti Region, if elected as President.

This initiative is part of Dr. Bawumia’s industrialization agenda aimed at generating jobs for the country’s growing youth population.

The Vice President made this commitment during a stakeholders’ durbar at Akomadan in the Offinso North constituency of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday.

On agricultural modernization, the NPP flagbearer announced plans to establish District Agriculture Mechanization Centres in key farming districts. These centers will equip farmers with machinery such as tractors, harvesters, and ploughing equipment to support farm expansion.

Dr. Bawumia affirmed his commitment to sustainable mining, stating that the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) would be equipped to carry out comprehensive geological surveys in designated areas nationwide.

This measure, Dr. Bawumia noted, would enable the GGSA to identify gold-rich areas, curbing speculative mining practices that harm landscapes and pollute water bodies.

The initiative reflects the NPP flagbearer’s determination to combat illegal mining and strengthen regulations on small-scale mining.

Dr. Bawumia also unveiled plans to develop the Western and Eastern railway lines to ease the transportation of mineral resources, along with other goods and services.

Dr. Bawumia stated that, under his administration, the Tema rail lines would be extended to Kumasi and further into the Northern Region. Additionally, railway lines from Awaso in the Western Region would be extended to Kumasi to facilitate the movement of goods and services.

Dr. Bawumia urged voters to elect him as the next President of Ghana, along with all NPP parliamentary candidates nationwide, to continue advancing the NPP government’s transformative agenda.
